Message from the Executive Director
Dear
Friends:
Welcome to our newly designed website and to Notre Dame Education
Center, “A Place of Hope,” founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame de
Namur. In 2012, Notre Dame Education Center will be embarking on its
20th year of service in the South Boston Community, thanks to you.
We have made it thus far
through your generosity and selfless giving, you, our major donors,
sponsors, benefactors, and volunteers. You have stayed the course
with us. We are so appreciative of your efforts to keep “Hope Alive”
for our students and their families.
Notre Dame Education Center is a community-based nonprofit that
offers Adult Basic Education programs to over 350 adult learners
yearly. The Center’s goal has been to provide adult learners and
youth with the tools to succeed in school, to compete in the job
market, and to achieve financial independence. As we begin our 3 to
5 year strategic plan initiative, we face
the challenges that many nonprofits meet in these struggling
economic times. One challenge we have identified is to assure that
our staff and students have honed the skills necessary to thrive in
this technological arena. Therefore, a goal of the Center’s
strategic plan is to improve and upgrade our technology
infrastructure and systems which in today’s highly technological
world is a must. As one of our students shared with me, “NDEC has
given me the skills to apply for a job so that I can take care of my
children.” Our hope is to provide the most updated resources in
order to continue this good work! We look to you for your continued
steadfast support and services.
We are proud of our students and their accomplishments. I invite you
to visit us at 200 Old Colony Avenue. Come and See… what energizes
and excites us!
With deep appreciation,
Joyce Khoury SND, EdD
